A continued focus of the IDD lab is the spatiotemporal spread of dengue virus. Dengue remains an important arbovirus that leads to high morbidity and mortality globally. Working with many different partners, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences, the Thailand Ministry of Public Health, and others, we have gathered multiple datasets of geolocated and time-stamped dengue infections. Using a novel statistical and modeling frameworks, we have used this data to characterize spatiotemporal clustering patterns on a fine spatial scale in a variety of contexts. We continue to expand this work by incorporating phylogenetic, immunological, demographic, and climate data to better understand dengue transmission.
